RESIDENTIAL STUDY PROGRAM: SCHEDULE

Annual Schedule
In each calendar year, the Masters Program classes are suspended two months for summer vacation (from the end of June until the beginning of September) and one month at Christmas (from mid-December until mid-January), with a study-break of one week immediately following the Easter weekend. In addition, classes stop for a few days around the Tibetan new year (Losar), which falls in February or March. Resident students are welcome to remain at the Institute during these breaks, whereas the student rates do not apply during the summer months.

Teachings: Teachings in Buddhist Studies with the principal teacher are two hours in length and held five days a week, once a day on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and twice a day on Wednesday. Students meet thirty minutes before the first class of the day to recite the Guru Yoga of Lama Tsongkhapa together.

Review classes and discussion groups: These classes occur four afternoons a week and are one and a half hours in length.

Group meditations: A guided meditation on the lam-rim takes place once a week.
