ILTK Masters Program Coordinator
Joan Nicell (Ven. Tenzin Choden)
Joan has been living and studying at Lama Tzong Khapa Institute
since 1990. In addition to acting as coordinator of the Masters
Program 1998 and Basic Program 2005, she also translated several
of the texts and commentaries and transcribed the daily oral teachings.
As Masters Program Coordinator she works closely
with Geshe Jampa Gyatso, the director of the FPMT Education Department,
and the FPMT Masters Program Consultant to manage the day to day
running of the program and care for the Masters Program staff and
students. An accomplished translator of
scriptural Tibetan, Joan also plans to edit the existing translations
of the texts and commentaries used during the previous Masters Program,
as well as to begin the enormous job of coordinating the revision
and restructuring of the thousands of pages of transcripts of Geshe
Jampa Gyatso's previous teachings with plans to publish them in
the not so distant future.
FPMT Masters Program Consultant
Olga Thubten Chodzin
Olga, FPMT
Basic Program Consultant since 1996, took on
the additional role of Masters Program Consultant in 2001. She is
responsible for creating and updating guidelines
and providing center support for the setting up of a Masters Program,
as well as organizing study materials produced by the Masters Program
1998, including translations of the main texts and commentaries,
transcripts of oral commentaries, review class transcripts, quizzes,
exams, and answer keys, to be made available on CD-ROM for centers
and individuals.
FPMT Education Department Director
Merry Colony
In her role as director
of the FPMT Education Department, Merry is
responsible for seeing that Lama Zopa Rinpoche's wishes for and
amendments to the FPMT study programs are put into effect. Since
June 2000 Merry has worked closely with Lama Tzong Khapa Institute
for the development and improvement of this advanced FPMT study
program, giving attention to the details of certification, staff
and student funding, teacher training, and job placements.
