• INTERPRETER AND TEXT TRANSLATOR
TIBETAN TO ENGLISH

(A graduate of the Masters Program 1998)

• INTERPRETER
ENGLISH TO ITALIAN

Cristiana Costa (Ven. Jampa Tsomo)
Following the advice of Geshe Jampa Gyatso, her teacher for 17 years, Cristiana studied and successfully graduated from the previous Masters Program as preparation for engaging in a long retreat. In fact, soon after the conclusion of the Masters Program, she entered into a strict retreat in her isolated home on the coast of Sicily that lasted more than two years. During the Masters Program 1998 Cristiana translated many of the English transcripts of the oral commentary into Italian, as well as many other texts used for shorter courses and retreats at the Institute. She also taught and guided retreats at the Institute and in other centers. Having proved herself to be very committed to and conscientious about finding the right terminology to transmit the Buddha-Dharma in a precise and yet accessible manner in Italian, she is the right person to translate Geshe Tenphel's oral commentary into Italian.

• TEXT TRANSLATORS
ENGLISH TO ITALIAN

Aurora Maggio
Aurora joined the Masters Program having had little previous contact with Tibetan Buddhism, and, in spite of having to work part-time to support her studies, was able to successfully complete the entire program. Having discovered during the course of the Masters Program 1998 that she had a talent for translating the often difficult study material from English into Italian, Aurora was asked by the Institute to continue to help with translations needed for the Basic Program 2005-07, as well as the translation of materials needed for other Dharma courses and retreats. During the Masters Program 2008 she is responsible for revising the Italian transcripts produced during the previous Masters Program, as well as improving existing translations and working together with Dino on creating an Italian glossary of standard Buddhist terminology.

Leonardo Cirulli

Dino, as he is known to his family and friends, after having studied Biology and Anthropology, worked for several years as a photographer. In the early 1980's he arrived at Istituto Lama Tzong Khapa, where he had the good fortune to attend the original teachings on the Ornament and Middle Way given by Geshe Jampa Gyatso in the 1980's and 1990's. Following that he acted as vice-director and then as director of the Institute for a period of five years. He participated in the entire Masters Program 1998, receiving the final certificate. During that same period he translated the important book Meditation on Emptiness into Italian (to be published by Je Tzong Khapa Edizioni, of which he is a founding member). Since then he has translated many of the texts needed for the study of the Basic Program subjects at Istituto Lama Tzong Khapa. In addition to translating the texts related to the Ornament into Italian, he will also revise other existing translations during the course of the Masters Program 2008, while at the same time working with Aurora to create an Italian glossary of standard Buddhist terminology.
