Italian-language teaching assistant
Venerable Olivier Rossi (Lobsang Jamyang)
After completing a degree in Marketing-Management, Olivier worked
in France and the USA before going to Nalanda Monastery to dedicate
himself to the study and practice of the Dharma. Soon after joining
the Masters Program 1998, Olivier took monastic ordination and soon
became the manager of Takden Shedrup Thargye Ling Monastery at Lama
Tzong Khapa Institue. Having graduated with honors from the Masters
Program, at the request of Geshe Jampa Gyatso he remained at the
Institute as teaching assistant for the Italian-speaking students
of the Basic Program (2005-07), while also continuing to regularly
teach weekend courses at several of the Dharma centers in Italy.
Much appreciated for his skill in teaching and his enthusiasm for
Dharma practice, Oliver leads the weekly Italian-language review
classes.
TEACHING ASSISTANTS
ON-LINE PROGRAM
English-language teaching assistant
Patrick Lambelet
Patrick earned a BA in Humanities from San Francisco State
University while at the same time studying the Dharma at Tse Chen
Ling Center, Land of Medicine Buddha, and Vajrapani Institute, where
he attended classes taught by various Tibetan and Western teachers.
In 1998 he joined the seven-year Masters Program and after having
successfully completed the academic component, he then fulfilled
the meditation and practice component by completing a nine-month
lam-rim and deity retreat at O Sel Ling Retreat Centre in Spain.
Upon returning to Italy, he taught Discovering Buddhism and lead
retreats at the Institute as well as in other Italian centers, while
continuing to work as an editor of books on Tibetan Buddhism and
as a teacher of English as a second language. Having excellent language
skills and being well-acquainted with working via computer, he is
very qualified to tutor English-speaking on-line students.
Italian-language teaching assistant
Venerable Laura Coccitto (Lobsang Drolma)
Laura had the great fortune to meet the lamas and the Dharma
at a young age. In fact she was one of the founders of Chenrezig
Center in Bologna and for many years worked in a variety of roles
for this center. Laura successfully completed the seven-year Masters
Program at the Institute, putting great effort and enthusiasm into
her studies and at the same time continuing to work part-time as
an elementary school teacher. She then acted as teaching assistant
for the Italian-speaking home study students of the Basic Program
hosted by the Institute in 2005-07. In addition, to assisting the
students in their studies via e-mail and an on-line forum, she also
lead intensive review sessions one weekend a month at the Institute.
Very popular with the students, she is once again the tutor for
Italian-speaking on-line students.
