The Institute’s
store and coffee shop officially opened in
June 2004, with a blessing ceremony by Geshe
Jampa Gyatso. The attractive wooden building
housing both activities is located in a shady
grove near the main entrance of the Institute,
near the stupa of Lama Yeshe. Patrons can
enjoy coffee and pastries in a friendly and
relaxed setting, either standing at the bar
or at tables inside or outside. The coffee
shop has quickly become a favorite gathering
place for residents and visiting students
alike.
The Institute store sells authentic Tibetan
handicrafts, including thangkas, statues,
incense, prayer flags, and religious items,
as well as CDs, books, videos, and transcripts
of teachings from Je
Tzong Khapa Editions and other Buddhist
publishers. |
