Chiara
Luce Edizioni
Chiara Luce (“Clear Light”) publications
is a publisher that produces Italian-language
books on Buddhism and on themes regarding
the meeting of the wisdom of the East and
the West, with the aim of preserving and communicating
important works of all the traditions of Buddhist
thought. Chiara Luce was founded at Istituto
Lama Tzong Khapa In 1983, in accordance with
Lama Yeshe’s instructions. Since then,
Chiara Luce has published numerous books and
booklets by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Lama
Yeshe, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Geshe Jampa Gyatso,
Geshe Yeshe Tobden, and other lamas.
Our titles are published in order to promote
the understanding of Buddhism as a living
and vital philosophy and psychology, a method
for obtaining knowledge of the self that
principally derives from a personal experience
of life. In particular, we wish to promote
knowledge of the great psychological and
philosophical tradition of Tibet, whose
relevance is today recognized with great
interest in the West, thus supporting its
preservation.
The West-East series is intended to create
a point of contact between the great philosophies,
psychologies, sciences, and arts of the
world and the explore the universality of
their ideas and methods. Along with such
far-reaching texts, we publish meditation
manuals for those who wish to deepen particular
aspects of meditative practice.
Our books, in addition to being sold in
our store at the Institute, are distributed
to book shops in Italy and are also available
by mail order. To receive our editorial
catalogs, which also include transcripts
of meditation seminars, books of other publishers,
cards, posters, and audio and video cassettes,
