Dharma Activities - JTK Publications
Je Tzong Khapa Editions, the publishing house of Lama Tzong Khapa Institute, was founded at the end of 2002. Je Tzong Khapa Editions began with the aim of preserving and spreading the teachings that have been offered at the Institute over a period of more than 25 years by some of the most eminent Tibetan lamas as well as Western scholars and practitioners. The publishing house has incorporated the resources of the "Tape Project," which was initiated in 1983 in order to fulfill Lama Yeshe’s wish that guided meditations related to the study program be made available to students. This project has been very important in preserving the teachings of Lama Yeshe, Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche, resident geshes, and the many visiting lamas to the Institute, resulting in a vast archive of thousands of hours of audio and video recordings. Many of these are rare teachings by great lamas who have since passed away.

JTK Editions is placing particular emphasis on publishing teachings given by Geshe Jampa Gyatso, who has been the Institute’s beloved resident teacher for more than 20 years.

JTK’s projects and goals currently include:
  • Digitally preserving the Institute’s audio-video archive of teachings, some of which risk damage from aging and demagnetization. Transferring these recordings into digital format will make them far easier to access and catalog, and thus more readily available to the public in the future. A number of CDs and DVDs of individually selected and edited recordings are already available from Je Tzong Khapa Publications.
  • Publication of study courses, both of brief and long duration, in CD and DVD format and on the Internet
  • Publication of sadhanas, commentaries and prayers
  • Translation of important scholarly Buddhist texts into Italian. Projects currently underway include translations of Meditation on Emptiness (Jeffrey Hopkins) and The Gelug-Kagyu Tradition of Mahamudra (His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Alexander Berzin).
  • Production of a glossary of Buddhist terms in Italian.
