Facilities - Chenrezing Chapel
The Chenrezig Chapel (also known as the Chenrezig Gompa), measuring 35 square meters, is a simple but beautiful structure nestled in the peaceful wooded area to the rear of the Institute. The building was meticulously restored and decorated for the visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 2001. The inside of the dome is decorated with traditional Tibetan-style murals depicting various Buddhist deities, such as the 21 Taras, the 35 Buddhas, and Shakyamuni Buddha, while above the altar is a bronze statue of 1,000-armed Chenrezig, the Buddha of compassion. On the outside, the chapel is ornamented with auspicious symbols, including a wheel of Dharma and the mantra of Kalachakra. The Chenrezig Gompa is used for various courses and retreats.
