The Istituto Lama Tzong Khapa is located at
Italy's, a beautiful mansion in Pomaia, a
small village nested in the rolling hills
of Tuscany, about 40 kilometers south of Pisa.
A monastic and lay community has formed in
and around the center which was founded in
1977 for the study and practice of the teachings
of the Buddha, according to the lineage of
Lama Tsongkhapa.
The Institute’s distinguished residential
teachers, visiting
teachers that have included His Holiness
the Dalai Lama, his senior tutor, and other
lamas of the highest realization, a well-stocked
library, comfortable accommodation, and vegetarian
Italian cuisine make it an ideal setting for
deepening one's knowledge and practice of
the Dharma.
